We are excited to introduce mobile bidding at this year's Legacy Gala, thanks to the generosity of K&L Gates, LLC.  Mobile bidding allows for a completely paperless bidding system. With mobile bidding, you will bid electronically on silent auction items using your smartphone, tablet (iPad, Samsung Galaxy, etc.) or computer bidding stations available throughout the venue. You can easily track the bidding progress on items of interest by following their activity from your mobile device, without having to return to the display tables. There will also be no auction bidding sheets on the display tables, which will eliminate overcrowding around auction items. 

Mobile bidding will make the event run more efficiently from registration to checkout.

What are the benefits of mobile bidding?

• All auction items will be on display for you to check out at the event AND you can see all of the items on your phone – a picture will be included!
• Enter the item number of the item you would like to bid on…or you can search for items while standing at the bar. An item number lookup takes you directly to the item where you can view details.  Entering search criteria takes you to the result screen where you can pick your item.
• Interested in an item but not sure if you want to bid?  Place it in your watch list by pressing “My Bids”
• Found an item you want? You can see the current bid, the closing time, a photo and details about the item from your mobile device.  You can bid by typing the next bid amount.
• Catching up with old friends AND don’t want to miss being out bid? We’ll send you a text message if you’re out bid.  Or you can type your max amount on what you want to spend on that item and the system will bid for you up to that amount!!
• All auction bidding will be tracked, displayed and announced in real time throughout the evening.
• At the end of the evening, the check out process will run efficiently because your credit card information will have been entered into our system prior to the event.

How can I participate in mobile bidding?

• To participate in mobile bidding, pre-registration of your mobile device is recommended.
• Once you have made a reservation for the Legacy Gala you will receive a confirmation email with directions on how to register your mobile device.

Will all bidding and purchases at the Legacy Gala be done through mobile bidding?

The Live Auction and Ticket Auction and all raffles will not be managed through mobile bidding. 

What about attendees who don't own or don't wish to use mobile devices?

• Laptops and tablets will be available on-site for those that don't own or don't wish to use a mobile device.
• Volunteers will be available to assist with questions.

Will this work for both smartphones and standard mobile phones?

• Yes, you can bid with any mobile device. With smartphones and tablets that can connect to the internet, you can browse, search and bid via a mobile-optimized version of our auction website.
• When registering your mobile device, you will be provided a custom URL for bidding purposes.
• With standard mobile phones, you can bid and receive alerts via text messaging.
